Words Rule

When was the last time you spoke to yourself? I speak to myself on a regular basis. When I was younger I use to hear people say that if you talked to yourself it meant that you were crazy. I am glad that’s not completely true.

The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Since I’m being totally honest, I have not always spoke life. I haven’t always understood the power or weight of my words. I didn’t always understand that what I meditated on the most would manifest in my life. It took a steady regimen of teaching, training, and consistency to rewrite the narrative of my life.

Before I realized how serious my words and thoughts were, I said what I felt; I said what I heard others say, or what I learned through tradition. I still shutter at some of my thoughts, words or actions.

Now days I am more intentional about thinking and meditating before I speak about MOST things. I have learned through practicing the presence of God to see myself the way He sees me; to only say what He would say about me and others, even in pressure situations, and for the most part it works for me. The only time it doesn’t work is when I insist on leaning to my own understanding and disregarding what I know to do.

When we are faced with hard times, such as this coronavirus pandemic which has brought the world, not just the United States, to a sketching halt, it can be quite challenging to stay focused on the Word of God when what we are experiencing with our natural senses is screaming for a response from us, because we are going to say something.

This is an exam for the Believer. Now is the time that we have been preparing for. This is the time when we discover how well we have prepared ourselves to stand against the trickery of the enemy. Now is NOT the time to forget everything we rehearsed. It’s time for us to unite and rise up! We being if the SAME spirit, we believe the same, so we MUST also speak the same thing.

It’s easy to say all the right things when there is no conflict present, but when there is a conflict between what we are experiencing in our natural senses and what we are experiencing in our spiritual senses (the Word of God), we have to maintain our posture of speaking the same thing….keep speaking life. No retreat. No surrender. No turning back.

Here is what is amazing too, none of us as Believers are any greater than the other in God’s eyes. He sees us all the same. We are each other’s keeper. We are brothers and sisters in the Lord. It is our duty and responsibility to cover for one another. God is a family man! It is not His desire that any of us be left behind! In fact, He would leave the ninety nine (99) to recover the one (1) who strayed from the pack!

God sees and knows ALL! He knows when we haven’t been speaking well of ourselves and one another. He told me to tell you to speak life only!!!!

It is never too late to begin to watch over your words. Just listen to yourself and your words will help to locate you. Remember that life and death are in the power of YOUR tongue. Speak life and not death, because you will reap what you sow. We don’t have a spiritual deficit, our soul is usually the issue.  Beloved, above all God wants us to prosper in every area of our lives, even in our souls.

Be blessed and stay encouraged. Keep helping me spread the love of God with others!

Thank you for taking the time to read my article. I pray it blesses your life!

Peace and Blessings
